Services for nonprofits
Our full range of services, solutions, and support is available to nonprofit organisations. These technologies play ever increasing roles in both campaigns and marketing, as well as day-to-day infrastructure and operations.
We have been able to help many charities and nonprofit organisations to assist their partners and conduct their delivery; by ensuring their digital needs are met with services that are not only reliable but also suit their needs.
Our nonprofit clients range in size and industry. We understand the unique cost considerations for all operations in this sphere, and we have a proven track record of delivering low cost solutions without compromising on the outcome.
Case study
We were asked by the Stephen Lawrence Charitable Trust to provide a solution for reducing maintenance, and thereby expenditure, of the Mac Media Suite at their Centre in Deptford. The Suite is used by staff, students and hirers – and as such the machines therein need to function reliably no matter the user or purpose. One user’s actions should not be to the detriment of the next user.
There are commercially available software solutions for this purpose, for use in such public environments, which restore a machine on each reboot, in order to undo any issues caused by the previous user. These all require an upfront purchase or more typically a yearly subscription. Using Faronics Deep Freeze for example, 15 workstations would cost circa £600 + VAT per annum. They also have the disadvantage that if changes are required to the workstations, e.g. a new application is to be installed, a new restore image must be created and all of the workstations need to be re-imaged with this.

As part of our existing support agreement, therefore at no extra cost, we were able to reconfigure the workstations and lock down most of the operating system settings so that they are inaccessibly to all other than administrators. We also wrote custom software to lock down further aspects of OS X that would not be otherwise controllable. For example retaining the setup of the dock, desktop and network attached drives.
This close control means that the workstations configurations cannot be changed and they work reliably for all users of the Suite. Whilst still retaining the ability for changes to be made and new software added. Furthermore, additional software products were not required to be purchased or licensed.
We also donated free unlimited online backup to the Trust on our cloud platform — current storage capacity is circa 1.7 TB. Equivalent to at least $2,520 + VAT per annum with Amazon Web Services and as much as £20,889.60 + VAT with a UK provider charging per GB.
