End of support for the Microsoft Health Dashboard

End of life for the Microsoft Health.
Microsoft have announced that on 31 May 2019 the Microsoft Health Dashboard will be shut down and Microsoft Band applications will be removed from the Microsoft Store, Google Play, and Apple App store. Users can continue to use Microsoft Band devices but integrated features will no longer be available.
Microsoft Health is a dashboard accessible from any computer that gives an overview of tracked activities, for example exercise or sleep, using data from the Microsoft Band, which is a smartwatch and activity/fitness tracking features.
After this date, all data held on the Health Dashboard will be deleted. It is possible to export your data before this date, using export tools on the site. Click here for detailed information of how to export data.
It will be possible to continue to use the Microsoft Band, however, this is limited to features on the band only. Please note, resetting the device after the 31 May will make it impossible to set up the device again and will remove all data.
Microsoft Band users will be able to do the following only:
Users with a Band covered under its Limited Warranty and/or who are Active Users could be eligible for a refund. All eligible users will receive an email with refund instructions. Refunds must be claimed by 30 August 2019.
When Microsoft released the first version of its Band in 2014, the wearables market was still new, but times have changed rapidly. In 2015, Apple and Android were relatively new to the market and were receiving mixed reviews. Fitbit on the other hand were doing well but were at the time almost entirely fitness orientated. Two years later in 2016, Microsoft discontinued the production of its Band for its often criticised awkward and uncomfortable design. It appears now Microsoft has decided to bow out of the wearables market entirely, whilst other players like Fitbit, Apple and Samsung continue to grow.
