Google’s New Logo Is Its Biggest Update In 16 Years
You may have noticed that Google has updated their logo? The upgrade has taken the original slightly dated serif text logo into a modern sans-serif animated logo, that is also brighter and more dynamic. This change to Google’s classic look may have gone under the radar, or you might have thought you noticed something but couldn’t put your finger on it.
The new logo is a needed modern shift. The fresher sans-serif look, that is actually more practical with the diversity of screen sizes today; is easier to see and read going from large to small screens. Also an abridged “G” logo, itself rendered in four colours for the tiniest of spots while still keeping the Google feel.
Shifting from the first static wordmark, the new animated figure enlivens a new world only available on our screens. When Google is called on, the letters go into action forming into four dots which morph into life upon your query. Once finished, the dots snap back into the trusty Google (new) logo, reassuring you once again.
Google’s newest changes are far from groundbreaking —but they are flexible, tasteful, painless, and of course very much Google.
