The new addition of Windows 10, known as Windows 10 Cloud may have nothing to do with the cloud at all, but everything to do with a direct competitor for Chromebook.
What is Windows Cloud? It is a simplified version of Windows 10 that will be able to run Unified Windows Platform (UWP) apps installed from the Windows Store.
Windows 10 Cloud is meant to help Microsoft in its ongoing campaign to attempt to thwart Chromebook with a simpler, safer, cheaper version of Windows 10. It’s likely they will release the Windows 10 Cloud laptop at a similar or cheaper price to Chromebook (~£200).
Little to do with the cloud, Microsoft has likely chosen the “Cloud” name since the company is supposed to be completely “cloud first” these days.
Rumour has it that Microsoft will debut this new addition on 2 May at their event.
