Apple have released their newest device, a new second version of the iPhone SE. This release has been timed well with current circumstances, reaching – and potentially benefiting – those needing high mobile devices to help with working from home and/or remotely.
The (second edition of the) iPhone SE price starts from £419 for 64GB of storage, which is ~£700 less than Apple’s flagship phone. There have been comments regarding the high price Apple sets for their devices, perhaps to engender them as a premium brand. But this misses the more ‘affordable’ area of technology hardware, and recently we have seen more devices at lower prices being offered, such as the iPhone SE and recently updated MacBook Air range.
The iPhone SE has Apple’s powerful A13 Bionic chipset, which is also in the flagship iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro lines. Apple claims this is to be the fastest processor on the market, and they have balanced features such as TouchID instead of FaceID with the A13 chipset to achieve higher performance at a lower cost.
Some more key features of the iPhone SE include:
- A pretty impressive battery, sustaining up to 13 hours of video on a single charge, although it seems to have the same technical battery size as the iPhone 8.
- Water resistance up to 1 metre for 30 minutes.
- Audio Sharing which plays the same thing through two sets of paired AirPods or Beats headphones. It is worth noting that the iPhone SE does not come with the usual headphone jack, which may not please all users and could be seen as yet another Apple push to force users to buy the latest Apple wireless audio products.
