Wikipedia, the world famous online encyclopedia, has been a huge part of the web since it started in 2001. For the first time since then, Wikipedia is being redesigned to be more user-friendly and easier to read and navigate.
The site’s parent company, the Wikimedia Foundation, announced that the changes will happen incrementally over a long period of time, allowing users to test the new features before they officially roll out.
The first update that will be made is that the sidebar will be collapsible, making articles easier to read with less distractions. Wikipedia will also add improvements to the in-site search tool to make it easier to find other pages. Contents menus/links will also change, making it easier to skip to sections without needing to scroll. Lastly, the logo is being reconfigured to make it smaller on each page.
