Google’s Chrome browser contains a Safety button, which quickly runs a safety test to check if the browser has been compromised. This is simple and highly recommended to do every so often.
The ‘Safety check’ button makes sure no stored passwords have been compromised, Safe Browsing is enabled, if any harmful extensions (aka add ons) have been installed, and if Chrome is up to date.
We recommend you do this now due to a spate of dangerous extensions having been recently discovered, for example see: 9to5google.com
To run a ‘Safety check’ go to this address in Chrome: chrome://settings/safetyCheck. You can also find this by going to Settings then ‘Safety check’ on the left-hand side, and clicking ‘Check now’.
