Direction Forward’s founder, Malcolm Woolliams, has certified as a NCSC (National Cyber Security Centre) Cyber Advisor. The Cyber Advisor scheme aims to assure that advice about cyber security is more readily available to organisations of all sizes.
Malcolm was one of the first experts to take part in the new initiative created by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), making him one of fewer than 100 certified professionals in the UK.
This means that Malcolm is now certified to assess organisations’ cyber security and security postures – as well as compliance with the government’s own schemes, including Cyber Essentials.
He will therefore be able to assist clients in:
- Identifying gaps in their internet-facing infrastructure, including security settings and potential vulnerabilities to cyber threats.
- Developing reports on compliance with regulations, standards, and certifications.
- Recommending actions and solutions to take in order to significantly improve security and/or to achieve compliance.
- Implementing solutions or guiding organisations on how to implement and remediate properly in order to reduce the risk of cyber attacks.
With the latest changes in working practices and culture – expedited by the pandemic – to include remote and hybrid working, nearly all organisations use digital products, applications, and services as part of their infrastructure. As a result, attack vectors have changed from targeting devices to the cloud.
As such, cyber security should be a priority for any and all organisations, not just large or complex businesses, both for your own protection and to reassure customers, clients, and partners that you have these measures in place.
