Microsoft are making some changes to Teams.

Guest access allows you to invite people outside your organisation to join groups and share resources on Teams, whilst still maintaining control over your organisation’s data.

Currently guest access is disabled by default to protect your organisation. However, to better facilitate all the remote and distributed working going on in the world at the moment, on February 8th 2021 guest access in Microsoft Teams will be enabled by default – for all new customers as well as existing customers.
